Cognitive & Behavioral Consultants of Westchester is a private group practice of internationally recognized mental health professionals who specialize in Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and provide the highest quality of clinical, consultation, and coaching services. Through the use of evidence-based approaches, we provide the necessary structure and tools to assist individuals with issues ranging from life stresses and problems to the full range of mild to severe psychological disorders. We serve adults, adolescents, children, couples and families, as well as provide consultation to the community and other professionals.

Our Staff
Sara Steinberg, PhD
Dr. Sara Steinberg is Assistant Director of CBCW and a full-time clinical psychologist working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. Dr. Steinberg received her B.S. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her doctorate in clinical psychology from SUNY Stony Brook. She completed her predoctoral internship at Long Island Jewish/Hillside Hospital in Queens, N.Y. Dr. Steinberg has co-authored professional articles and book chapters, and has presented research at conferences on a variety of topics including adolescent depression and romantic functioning and adolescent-parent relationships. She has given presentations and workshops on CBT for eating disorders and DBT for multi-problem adolescents. Dr. Steinberg has received extensive training in CBT for depression, anxiety disorders, relationship and family problems, and eating disorders. In addition, she has been intensively trained in DBT for self-injury and borderline personality disorder. Specifically, she has been involved in both the adolescent and adult DBT program at CBCW as an individual therapist and a skills trainer. Additionally, Dr. Steinberg provides DBT supervision and consultation to other professionals and programs. She currently consults to local high schools who are implementing DBT programs within their schools. She is an active member of the Association for Advancement for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies. She has been asked to serve on the planning committee for the 2008-2010 annual programs for the International Society for the Improvement & Teaching of Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
