Cognitive & Behavioral Consultants of Westchester is a private group practice of internationally recognized mental health professionals who specialize in Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and provide the highest quality of clinical, consultation, and coaching services. Through the use of evidence-based approaches, we provide the necessary structure and tools to assist individuals with issues ranging from life stresses and problems to the full range of mild to severe psychological disorders. We serve adults, adolescents, children, couples and families, as well as provide consultation to the community and other professionals.

Our Staff
Ruth Hamilton, LMSW
Ruth Hamilton is a psychotherapist who works part-time at CBCW with children, adolescents, families, and adults. Ms. Hamilton is a Licensed Master of Social Work, and received her Masters at the University of Michigan. She completed an internship at the University of Michigan Health System Department of Adult Ambulatory Psychiatry, and a post-masters fellowship at the University of Michigan Health System Department of Child and Adolescent Outpatient Psychiatry. Ms. Hamilton has received specialized and intensive training in a variety of evidence-based psychotherapies, including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectic behavioral therapy, and interpersonal therapy. She has extensive experience conducting cognitive behavioral treatment for a full range of problems, including anxiety disorders, depression, attention deficit disorder, eating disorders, weight management, stress management, and relationship problems. Ms. Hamilton also has expertise in parent training, in which she assists parents with the development and implementation of behavioral strategies to decrease the frequency of problem behaviors and increase the frequency of skillful behaviors. Additionally, Ms. Hamilton has been intensively trained in dialectical behavior therapy, and has been involved in both the adolescent and adult DBT programs at the University of Michigan, Sarah Lawrence College and CBCW as an individual therapist and a skills trainer.
